MILPITAS, CA, 30 March 2009 – Zed-3 today announced the signing of a distribution agreement with Transition Systems of Singapore. Under the terms of the agreement, Transition Systems (and its subsidiaries and affiliates) will distribute Zed-3’s products in Asia.Iain Milnes, president of Zed-3, and Jonathan Juay, Group Managing Director of Transition Systems, formally signed the agreement in February at the headquarters of Transition Systems in Singapore. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. With the signing of this agreement, Zed-3 has significantly expanded the availability of its products. Zed-3 discussed distribution with many companies in the region and selected Transition Systems as the company that is best positioned to sell, service, and support its products.Commenting on the deal, Jonathan Juay said, “Transition is a leading value added distributor, with strong presence throughout SE Asia. We are pleased to welcome Zed-3 to our portfolio of leading manufacturers. Their product line fits well with existing products we offer, with little or no overlap. Our business partners will benefit greatly from this addition to our family. We can offer end users in the region a more comprehensive range of communications products, including the GSM and CDMA gateway.”Zed-3 designs and manufactures IP PBXs, IP phones, and IP gateways. All products are based on open standards and use SIP for the communications protocol. Transition distributes communications, networking, security, and storage products from SonicWALL, Aruba, Blue Coat, F5, and others.“Our channel sales in Asia are now established and we have been seeking a good regional distributor for some time,” said Iain Milnes. “Transition Systems is undoubtedly the best solution provider in the region. They have a synergistic product line and offices in all our major markets. This allows them easily to service our customers across Asia. I am impressed with the enthusiasm each of their regional offices has shown to get our products to market. Everyone seems committed to the Zed-3 product line and we are all particularly optimistic for the potential sales of the GS8 modular gateway.”Zed-3 introduced the GS8 modular gateway in May 2008; it accommodates plug in modules for analog, GSM, and CDMA. The system permits connectivity of phone calls between any of these interfaces and the SIP interface on the Ethernet port; it is unique in this functionality. The product allows a business or enterprise to make and receive calls on a cellular phone network from its PBX thereby providing cost savings, convenience, and improved customer service.By using Zed-3’s GS8 modular gateway with other IP communications products from Transition Systems, the two companies can address the growing needs for fixed mobile convergence (FMC). A business is able to use a single handset to accept calls from its PBX over Wi-Fi and the GSM network.“We are delighted to have signed the distribution agreement for South East Asia with Zed-3,” added Jonathan Juay. Our continued strong growth and our ability to attract a premier partner like Zed-3 prove to both channel partners and vendors that we are the distributor of choice in this region.”
