New gateway offers flexibility, convenience, and cost savings for your telephone needs

GS8 modular gateway interconnects analog, IP, GSM and CDMA networks.

Zed-3 is introducing the GS8 modular gateway that can connect your phone system to mobile phone networks. The product works with existing analog phone systems as well as standard SIP IP PBXs. Connecting your phone system directly to the cellular phone network will allow your company to directly make and receive calls on GSM or CDMA networks without having to traverse an ITSP or PSTN network. The product can also send and receive SMS (text) and MMS (rich format) messages.

Applications for the GS8 modular gateway are varied. For security, you might not want to publish your mobile phone number yet still receive calls when out of the office. By forwarding calls that are made to your office phone, callers are seamlessly and transparently redirected to your mobile phone.

Depending on the calling plan, calls from one mobile phone to another mobile phone may be at little or no cost, especially if the phones are part of a group. By installing a SIM card from that group into the cellular phone module on the GS8 modular gateway, calls between your office and your outside employees may be at no cost so dialling them is equivalent to dialling an extension.
